Guest Services Team Leader

The National Wine Centre of Australia(NWC) is one of Adelaide’s premier events and tourism venues. Situated on the fringe of the CBD adjacent to the Botanic Gardens, the NWC offers a range of function spaces in a stunning architectural setting, coupled with unparalleled food, wine and tourism experiences.

An opportunity exists for an experienced customer service, administration and tourism professional, reporting to the Tourism Manager, to lead our Guest Services team on a permanent part-time basis. Hours vary between 8.00am-6.00pm, including weekends.

 The responsibilities of this role include:

  • To be initial point of contact for all visitors to the NWC.
  • Provide a warm welcome, attending to all guest requests and enquiries in a timely manner.
  • Support NWC staff with requests and administrative duties.
  • Lead Guest Services team to support the Tourism Manager.
  • Supervise training and development of responsibilities for the Guest Services team.
  • Create and distribute roster, approving timesheets within budget.
  • Provide tourism support to visitors for onsite and offsite bookings, using online platforms.
  • Support upkeep and operation of tourism facilities for visitors, tours, and events.

 The successful candidate will have a strong customer service and administrative background with a passion for tourism and possess the following skill set:

  • Skilled in email, online booking platforms, and Microsoft Suite, Canva desirable.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Experienced in public speaking to be able to address tour groups
  • Wine/local tourism knowledge advantageous.
  • Capability to work both autonomously and in a team environment, across a 7-day roster.
  • Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with Tourism Manager and all NWC departments.
  • Ability to engage with customers and present a corporate image with a friendly personality.
  • Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills, working well under pressure to multi-task multiple timelines and urgent     task requests.
  • Use initiative and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to conduct physical duties as required by the role.
  • Experienced in supervisory and permanent part-time roles.
